Marc Hochstein

As Executive Editor, Marc Hochstein oversees Layer 2, CoinDesk's magazine of ideas. Layer 2 includes in-depth feature and investigative articles, a diverse range of informed opinions and deep-dive research reports. He also sets CoinDesk's ethics and standards policies and spearheads our internal editorial training efforts.

Marc is a veteran journalist with more than 25 years' experience, including 17 years at the trade publication American Banker, the last three as editor-in-chief, where he was responsible for some of the earliest mainstream news coverage of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

Marc owns some bitcoin, an Urbit planet (~fodrex-malmev) and two NFTs from the metal band Gwar.
